The Queen of Sprinting the Pocket Rocket from Jamaica - Shelly-Ann Fraser Pryce |
The Pocket Rocket 11" x 13" Framed
World, and Olympic Champion sprint specialist Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce of Jamaica is captured in this acrylic on canvas board by Maui Artist Matt Holton. Most recently Fraser-Pryce won the 100 meters, 200 meters, and was the anchor in the 4x100 meter relay at the World Track and Field Championships in Moscow, August 2013. She is nicknamed the "rocket pocket" and has also been referred to as the Queen of sprinting. This royal status is further expressed in the frame of this special piece. The frame is embellished with gems, stones, and rocks, and sparkles in the sunlight; just like this fine athlete who has honed her skills to exceptional greatness. Her personal records include 10.70 (4th fastest woman in history) and 22.09 for the 200 meters. Read more about her at IAAF.org.
