Working on Kiprotich.

The work on the canvas has begun on the Kiprotich piece Matt is working on. Take a look at the sketch this large piece of art is based on here. Matt is already applying colored acrylics to the paining starting with different hues of brown.
In order to prevent smearing of the pencil sketch, Matt seals the painting. This is the largest painting Matt has challenged himself to so far. It speaks to the huge larger than life accomplishment that the Kenyan trained Ugandan Steven Kiprotich achieved when he won the Olympic Marathon.
The Burnt Sienna stages of the painting. Matt does not mix colors, just layers them one at a time
The subject is starting to take shape, and there is more depth to the pencil sketch.

Now blues are starting to come into the picture. A shimmery, shiny light now emanating from the right side of the piece.
