Squares 42 x 42 and Ulu (Breadfruit) 17 x 17 - Oil on Wood Panel

Ulu - Hawai'ian Breadfruit 17 x 17 Oil on Wood Panel 

I have been working with some concepts from Painter Joseph Albers and old Hawai'ian quilt patterns. The result was Ulu. In this piece I wanted play with color theory and simple images and patterns to create a combination of emotions. The video below also shows two square paintings that I did based on the work of Joseph Albers - not really my style, but I have enjoyed the concept and feeling.
